I decided to make our own IRC channel. Here are the details you'll probably need (this list might change; check back often): 1) server : irc.rizon.net 2) channel : #gprpg So..lol... still bored as hell... comments??? ps. If the channel is inactive for 14 days, it'll get deleted... so pls...if you like this idea...help keep it alive

I like the idea... But.... Gamepatch had more then 1000 members, and you can see how lively their channel is I doubt our's will be better..... But hey, who knows.... when we've got more members we can even have rpiing in there.

lol yeah...that's a great idea...but just so you know...at least it won't die if at least 1 person goes there every day (maybe in turns or whatnot)

GP had over 1000 members, but most were those who signed up, saw there was no patch, and left.
We only had...what, 50, 70 active members?
At best?

Still, more then twice we have....
But if we actually manage to make the RP think work well, the channel my might work. That will take some time though.
And, you're right. People wont come here for any patch, so any member who register will do it for the RP i guess... not so many useless members

It's not that hard, is it?
Launch mIRC, Register nickname, connect to server, type /msg nickserv identify (Password), and go to choose channal, and enter #gprpg.

A IRC ch's popularity really depends on what that ch has to offer. Say a subbing ch that offers free download to anime from bots would attract more people (especially when they release a ep) then say a ch just dedicated to chatting.. The gamepatch ch does offer something ie the shuffle patch, hopefully to be released soon, but hasn't released or appear to be inactive for quite some time, hence the lack of people..
GPRPG ch, is i believe another chatting ch right? Well first of all it's based of a forum (where people communicate anyway) secondly there isn't much to do there except to chat..
Now compare this with a very popular ch on rizon.net the #eclipse ch, where minimum there are at least 700 people (although most of the time they're in the 1000's). That ch is popular no doubt because of their quick releases, subbing anime ect.

lol .... so true.... well, like I said... when I started this, my mindset was not to make a popular channel..... It was to try to get rid of my boredom.... (which btw failed miserably..... )
