With reguards to our current technology. Implementing gundams into a military is costly and certainly unfeasible. Unless the gundam built can really perform like those in the anime, I'm almost certain that if they do build one, it'll be little more then a tank that looks humanoid in shape. Gundams unless used as some sort of psychological warfare (our tanks look like humans ahaha) obviously won't work..

Gundams won't work like the ones we see in anime until we develop both an energy source to power giant thruster packs, and materials strong enough to withstand the G forces of said thruster packs.
Until then, think Chromehounds, or Full Metal Panic, or Code Geass if you wanna push it.
