I have some suggestions to the forum, some things I think would make things much more fun, but probably a little complicated to achieve. I'm not sure if its the right place to post this, so please move it if is not.
About the RPing itself, the way it is now its not very organized. Of course, that gives every player loads of freedom to do whatever, but on the other hand, things can get a little stalled the way it is. My suggestion would be that for each, lets call it "campaign", one or more users could be nominated GM's ("Game Masters" for rpg newbs) and be given minor powers within that thread. So, lets say for example, on the "firebird inn campaign" phoenix would be nominated GM, since he idealized the whole inn idea, or someone else indicated by him maybe. That way, this person would help the story to follow to its rightful direction, or just prevent the story from getting stalled. He could also control NPCs and maybe be able to create and reward special items to PCs for completing determined tasks or something like that.
About the RPG system, there could be created separate part on the user/player profile with information on the classes, attribute, points (to improve the attributes and abilities as levels get gained) characteristics, abilities and inventory. Since the items (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) consist only of name, description and image, shouldn't be hard for the GMs to create special specific items for the campaigns. The items system could also be improved a lot, maybe gems to enchant weapons, something like diablo.
About the points, there could be two different ways of getting points. One for each post, like it is now, and one been awarded for the GMs at some points in each campaign So one other power of the GMs would be to award points to the players on his thread. Of course, if some character gets awarded points on two different and unrelated campaigns, each points should add up normally to the total points received. I also think the points awarded by the GMs should have a greater weight then the post points, otherwise anyone can level up too easily just posting like crazy every day, and I don't see how thats very fair... Other reason is that it is also an incentive to spam.
I know probably that would mean a lot of work, but it doesn't have to be implemented all at once. Little by little the system can be improved, there is time for that. I would like to help with the programing if any of these ideas, or others, seems good to you. Truth is I know nothing of java script, but I do know a lot about programing, and I know several other languages, and, like they say... if you know one, you know'em all Can't be that hard, and I would love this opportunity to learn.
So, please comment on what you think of all this
